Cross Court Drop

Purchase Quintic Squash

This is not a shot I would recommend playing regularly. This is a shot that should be used as an alternative to the straight drop to keep a surprise element in your game and also when your opponent is either out of position or committed to the straight drop.

The technical aspects of this shot are the same as for the straight drop but with the follow through coming across the ball, instead of through it. Although the wrist does break, try not to lose control of the racquet head.

In the backhand clip my opponent was so far out of position, he guessed for the straight drop and I just waited and then turned my wrist, changing the trajectory of the ball cross court. The forehand clip was more of a working cross drop which just changed my angle of attack and worked more as a variation than an attempted winner.
